About Us
Impact 100 Crawford County is a group of women who come together to improve the quality of life in our community. Beginning each October, 100 or more women commit to donating $500. The following September, these women gather to hear presentations from local nonprofits and vote to award impactful grants—$5,000, $10,000, or more—funding projects that directly improve the lives of Crawford County residents.
Our History
In September 2001, the idea of promoting philanthropy among women sparked in the mind of Wendy Steele. She believed giving should feel like a celebration. With the support of close friends and business associates in Cincinnati, Ohio, her vision of a pass-through foundation became reality—and Impact 100 was born.
Impact 100 awards transformational grants across five focus areas: Culture, Education, Environment, Family, and Health & Wellness. What began in Cincinnati quickly grew. By 2003, the model had caught the attention of national media and began to spread across the country.
In 2016, Kathy Lasley heard Wendy Steele speak at a Community Foundation of the Ozarks affiliate conference. Inspired, she introduced the idea to the Crawford County Foundation Board. That November, the vision took root, and Impact 100 Crawford County was launched.
